Hidden Valley Falls
Vendor: Outfitters Kauai
Category: Kayak / Canoe
Location: Hawaii-Kauai
Description:

Enjoy a lovely paddle on the Hule'ia River, a beautiful calm-water jungle stream. After cruising downwind for 2 miles, we'll tie our kayaks to a tree and take a ¾ mile hike up the valley to an enchanting area of waterfalls and swimming holes.

Take a swing on our rope into a deep-water mountain pool, enjoy a pretty little waterfall, and then for the return trip, rather than paddling your kayak into headwinds, kick back and cruise down river on our motorized Hawaiian canoe. This trip is great way to have some fun and see some pretty places, without spending your whole day at it.

  • Explore the best parts of Kauai both in and out of the water.
  • Paddle two miles down the Huleia Stream and through the Huleia National Wildlife Refuge, a natural habitat for rare and endangered Hawaiian water birds.
  • Cruise past Alekoko, or Menehune Fishpond, and around the base of the Haupu Mountain Range, a majestic 2000ft shield volcano.
  • After tying up the kayaks, guests will enter Hidden Valley, a secluded and private watershed leased exclusively to Outfitters Kauai, where they will be led through a pristine rain forested valley containing many different interesting communities of plants, birds and aquatic life, both native and introduced.
  • We will stop along the way at waterfalls and swimming holes with rope swings for swimming.
  • Rather than paddling back two miles into headwinds, guests will come aboard our twin-hulled, motorized Hawaiian canoe for the return trip to our dock. This adventure puts emphasis on fun, and interpretation of natural history, culture, folklore and legends.
